It can be very difficult to encourage your kids to become independent. At the first, you might not want them to. And also your kid might not want to, which can make it very difficult when you attempt to make them independent. Here are some simple ways, Let's check it out.

1. Concept Of Choice

Promote Independence
Kids don't understand the Concept of Choice until much later in life. For this we can ask them which food they like, which toys they want to play. But ultimately the choice is over the person who take cares the kid. Once they get little older encourage them to make their own choices instead of offering. This will help them to make their own decision in the later ages. And if you start leaving them with their choices it will become more independent down the line

2. Give Them Responsibilities

Promote Independence

When we are young we are desperate for responsibilities, but when we are little older  we avoid the responsibilities as much as possible. It might not be difficult to encourage your children to take responsibility, because they want the same as young. The biggest task is on the parent to allow  these responsibilities to happen. It is not easy task but don't worry, it is normal to worry, just do as you can and see the result.

3. Solving Problem

Promote Independence
Kids are not good at problem solving and why would they be? Kids have their parents to solve the problem. However, there comes a time in a kid's life, where they must start trying to figure out the answer to some of simple questions. It is up to the parents that not to jump in and solve the issue once the problem comes. Ask the kid how he/she solve the problem. Not always provide ready made solution, let them find sometimes.

4. Avoid Overprotecting

Promote Independence
Don't overprotect your kid it can be dangerous for a number of reasons. First, high shielding your kid from potential hazards and danger can provide a false view of real life. Secondly, overprotecting is not good for a person ego and has the chance to create an unnecessary form of arrogance. Little bit of protecting is OK, after all they are your babies at the end.

5. Not to Worry of Failure

Promote Independence
No kids is going to get it the same way as you told. It might take even longer to get it. Everybody has to learn to be independent, learn to make decisions, and learn to make choices. If your kid takes much time to do the same don't worry, it happens to the best of us and it will probably happen again. Give them to fix the problem again and again, that the way they learn from their mistakes.

6. Teach to Negotiate

Promote Independence
Negotiation can also assist with a child's self-esteem and social skills, they will learn to talk to people in a way that can benefit them but also show that they can be generous and have the ability to understand other peoples problems which is the key factor for becoming independent.

7. Routine

Kids need a well structured routines for mornings, afternoon and evenings. Let them try new things but in the safety net of routine and structure. The routine will help them to remind the things that they have already completed. This will also help kid to become independent.

8. Praise

Promote Independence

Kids love to be praised, whatever it might be. So every activity your kid will do praise as  'well done' or 'very good' for completing the tasks. The best thing about it is that it will make them feel good. It will encourage them to do that thing again but it will make the world of independence.

9. Help From Behind The Scenes

Promote Independence
It is very important when your child doing the things by himself, step back. Yes it might be upsetting to see him struggling but at the end of the day, he learn how to become better. However it does not mean that you can't help at all.
